3 Sunsail employees have been found guilty of negligence in a Greek Court following a sailing event in which an 11-year old girl Laura Morgan, drowned in July 2003.
Her catamaran overturned whilst on a sailing lesson off the Greek coast. She was sailing with 2 other girls aged under 16 when the craft tipped over and she could not free herself from her harness. Greek sailing regulations state that a minor cannot sail without the supervision of an adult.
The lesson was part of a holiday booked with Sunsail, against whom legal proceedings were made following the death of Laura. This Court ruling will strengthen the holiday accident claim that Laura's mother, Lynne, is pursuing following the tragedy.
