If you are married but the relationship has broken down we can help you through your divorce. If you and your spouse agrees that there should be a divorce we can tell you how much it will cost. If you are the petitioner (the person bringing the divorce) the cost to you will be £820 including VAT and court fees.

If you are the respondent (the person against whom the divorce is brought) the cost is £275 including VAT. Unfortunately, if it is a contested divorce we cannot quote a price and costs are very expensive indeed. If agreement is reached easily over residence and contact (previously called custody and access) there is no additional charge for dealing with the court papers.

If there is a dispute over the children, the longer the divorce lawyer spends on a case the bigger the bill. It is always best to try and agree on as much as possible especially where children are concerned.

Property Disputes and Financial Settlements

We will give you the best advice to make sure you get your fair share of matrimonial assets such as the house, pension and income. Our divorce lawyers will try their best to reach a settlement with your partner’s solicitors over these matters. However, if no such settlement can be reached we will fight your corner as hard as is possible.

There is an hourly charge rate for this service. Again the more you argue the bigger the bill. However sometimes you have no choice but to fight until a fair settlement can be reached.
